The sleeves are edged with lace as is the neckline and the front of the dress. Rosebud trim is applied along the lace. The sleeves have a satin pink bow. The bodice is lined and the back is held closed with 3 snaps.
This dress was custom ordered for a Halloween party. The sleeves end at the elbows, but the lace overlay attached at the elbow reaches almost down to the floor. The dress is made of crushed velvet and bridal lace.
She was fun to make. There is a lot of detail to this dress. Starting at the yellow trim down the front, red applique on the puffed up sleeves, satin stand-up collar and her red satin headband. All dresses have 3 snaps in the back unless noted.
Growing up on our farm in France, my mother taught me how to sew at the age of 7. I found at that young age a passion for making doll clothes from my mom’s leftover scraps.
My children enjoyed many handmade clothing, unique Halloween costumes and formal gowns. Now my grandchildren are the recipient of my talent.
My love for sewing has grown to include making costumes for plays and opera, creating historical costumes for children and adults, wedding dresses, and American Girl doll outfits.
Recently, I finally decided to turn my passion into something more and I’m excited to open my experience and skills to those in want of custom costumes.
I’m looking forward to helping you create your own one-of-a-kind creation.
